Melani Nanai vs The Bulls 

The Blues winger had an exciting game against the men from Pretoria scoring a try and putting together a fantastic attacking display.

Nanai's attacking qualities showed as he made 117 metres from his 16 carries against the Bulls. He also made 4 offloads, scored 1 try and set up another as his side beat the Bulls 38-14.  

Bernard Foley vs Melbourne Rebels


Foley is the 2nd top peformer from the Australian derby, the Wallaby fly-half made his return following a concussion he sustained in the pre-season. 

Foley returned to his normal top form as he lead the Waratahs to a 32-25 victory over the Rebels, he carried the ball on 23 occasions and beat 6 defenders.


He made 140 metres with the ball in hand, made 2 offloads and picked up a try assist. Foley had a good day from the kicking tee as  well as he missed only 1 of his 6 kicks.

Reece Hodge vs Waratahs  

Despite being on the losing end of a thrilling Australian derby, Wallaby centre, Reece Hodge put in a monstrous all-round display.

Hodge scored 20 of his side 25 points, he opened the scoring in the 3rd minute as he slotted an early penalty. 15 minutes later he scored the first try of the game when he took full advantage of some poor Waratahs defence.

He crashed over for his 2nd try before halftime as he led his side to a 25-6 lead at half-time.

Hodge made 14 tackles against the Tahs, while his 6 carries resulted in a total 48 metres - beating 3 defenders and accumulated 2 clean breaks. 

Chris Alcock vs Highlanders

Alcock was another player who made a telling contribution in vein as his side lost 18-13 to the Highlanders. 

The former Western Force flanker scored his first try for the Brumbies in first half as his side led 10-5 at half-time.

Alcock made 14 tackles and won 2 turnovers for his side. On attack Alcock beat 2 defenders from his 4 carries, which resulted in him picking up a clean break.

Andisa Ntsila vs Lions 

The Kings flanker put his side into the lead against Lion in the 1st minute of the game when he charged down a poor kick by Andries Coetzee. 

Following his try Ntsila's game went from strength to strength as he made a total of 13 tackles and won a turnover for his side.

Ntsila troubled the Lions defence as he made 93 metres from his 6 carries and set up another try for his side.

Jaco Kriel  vs Southern Kings

Kriel had another stand-out performance for the Lions as he continues to show that he is one of the best attacking flankers in Super Rugby.

He made 116 metres from his 14 carries, beating 9 defenders and like Ntsila set-up a try and scored another.

The Lions dominated possession for most of the game but Kriel was still able to make 6 tackles and won a turnover for his side.

 Francios Venter vs the Sharks 

The Cheetahs welcomed the return of their captain when they hosted the Sharks in Bloemfontein.

Venter picked up where he left off last season with an all-round performance against the Sharks. It took Venter 28 minutes to score his first points of the season when he went over the line with a strong fend.

He made 9 tackles and won 2 turnovers for his side, while his 18 carries resulted in 51 metres - which included 2 offloads and 3 clean breaks.
