The New South Wales Waratahs claimed a 28-17 home win over their arch rivals the Queensland Reds in round 4 of Super Rugby. The Waratahs kicked two early penalties before scoring the games first try midway through the first half to build a 13-0 lead. The Reds hit back with a try, but a third Waratahs penalty made it 16-7. A second try for the Reds just before halftime saw them trail just 16-12 at the break. The Waratahs got off to the perfect start in the second half, scoring in the opening minute to extend their advantage to 21-12. The Reds got back into the match with their third try with 15 minutes to play to reduce the deficit back to just four points at 21-17. However, the Waratahs responded shortly after with their third try to seal their tenth straight victory over the Reds in Super Rugby.
