The Brumbies got off to the perfect start in the second half, running in their fourth try to extend their advantage out to 28-14. The Waratahs then picked up a yellow card, with the Brumbies capitalizing immediately with a try to take a commanding 33-14 lead into the final quarter. It was then the Brumbies turn to go down to 14 players with a yellow card, but despite their numerical disadvantage they would score another try. The Brumbies put the cherry on the cake with their seventh try of the match with the final play to seal an emphatic victory.
