Super Rugby Highlights: Brumbies v Blues
- 1109
The Brumbies moved into second position in the Australian Conference after a hard fought 26-21 home win over the Blues in round 12 of Super Rugby. The Blues got off to a fast start with two early tries to lead 12-0, but failed to take all their opportunities after missing two penalty kicks at goal. The Blues then picked up a yellow card, with the Brumbies crossing for a try shortly after. A Blues penalty made it 15-5, but the Brumbies went over for a late first half try to trail 15-12 at the halftime break. It was all Brumbies at the start of the second half, with the pressure telling as the Blues picked up another yellow card. Shortly after, the Brumbies were over for a try to hit the front 19-15. The Blues kept the scoreboard ticking over with two penalties in quick succession to reclaim the lead 21-19 with a little over 15 minutes to play. However, the Brumbies would have the final say as they hit back with a try thanks to their reliably dominant forward pack to move level on points with the Australian Conference leading Rebels.
