Exeter Chiefs 20-12 Northampton Saints

Exeter Chiefs put themselves in good position for a home semi final with a dogged victory over Northampton Saints at Sandy Park. 

The hosts conceded two tries in the first half and trailed by nine points at the break. In the second half they began to apply good pressure and a try through Woodburn put them back in the game.

As the Saints' penalty count grew the boot of Steenson gave the Chiefs a healthy lead with a final scoreline of 20-12.


Wasps 39-12 Sale Sharks

Wasps further cemented their place in the top four of the Aviva Premiership with their bonus point victory over the Sale Sharks at the Ricoh Arena winning 39 - 12. 

Wasps started the brighter of the two sides scoring in the first minute of the game with the inform Charles Piutau crossing the line. Rob Miller went over 5 minutes later and Johnson dotted down just before the half to give Wasps a lead of 25 points to 0 at the break.

Sale came out fighting in the second half and scored two tries of their own through captain Seymour and Briggs. But Wasps ensured there would be no Sale comeback by scoring another two tries to seal the game and the bonus point. 

Tempers boiled over in the 75th minute when Bristow pushed Leota's head into the ground but Leota retaliated by kicking Bristow in the leg. Bristow was sin binned whilst Leota was shown a straight red.


London Irish 23-18 Gloucester

London Irish kept their survival hopes alive with an important win over Gloucester.

Irish lead 10-3 for most of the half thanks to a try from Halani Aulika but the Cherry & Whites leveled it on the stroke of half time thanks to a try from Lewis Ludlow.

A try from Henry Trinder put Gloucester ahead as the game entered the final 10 but Blair Cowan dotted down and Greig Tonks added 3 to seal an important win.

Irish now trail Newcastle by 5 points with 5 games to go.


Leicester Tigers 21-13 Saracens

Leicester Tigers got a massive result over a weakened Saracens in front of their home crowd to strengthen their top 4 hopes.

It was a slow opening half that saw the Tigers take a 6-3 lead at the break.

The second half saw a series of tries as the Tigers took advantage of two Saracens sin bins, first Freddie Burns dotted down then Fiji international Vereniki Goneva dived over.

Saracens did bounce back with a try from Alex Goode but they failed to claim the losing bonus point in the dying stages.
