Stats and facts: Ireland v Fiji

Ireland will look to build on their victory against South Africa when they take on Fiji in the second round of the Autumn Nations Series.

Here's a few stats and facts ahead of the clash:

1. All four previous meetings between the nations also took place in Dublin, Ireland winning on each occasion.

2. The 19-16 triumph over the Springboks was Ireland’s 15th win in 17 matches.

3. Ireland face Fiji for just the fifth time on Saturday and will look to claim an 11th successive home victory.

 4. Fiji came close to causing an upset the last time the two sides met in November 2017, as Ireland struggled to a 23-20 victory against the Pacific Island nation at the Aviva Stadium.

5. There could be a Test debut for Castres Olympique centre Adrea Cocagi, whose time playing in France has also seen him line out for Stade Francais, Tarbes and Perpignan.

6. Fiji are winless in their last three matches in Europe (D1L2) after winning five in a row previously; their last win against Tier 1 opposition did come during the end-of-year Tests in Europe however, beating France in 2018 (21-14).

7. Ireland have won their last 10 home matches, with only South Africa last weekend managing to finish within seven points of Ireland during that spell; it’s their second-longest winning run at home, after a 12-game streak between 2016 and 2018.

8. Tadhg Furlong is the 109th player to captain Ireland as he makes his 62nd Test appearance for Ireland. 

9. While Furlong is not the first prop to captain his country, the last one to do so was Simon Best against Argentina in 2007.
