South Africa gained revenge for last week's defeat in Adelaide as they beat Australia 24-8 on Saturday.
Damian de Allende got the Springboks off to a strong start as he got on the end of an Eben Etzebeth offload before debutant Canan Moodie increased the Springboks' lead to 3-12 by halftime.
The Boks came out firing in the second half with Franco Mostert rounding off a stellar team try with Makazole Mapimpi's try in the 70th minute putting the game beyond Australia's reach.
Pete Samu grabbed a consolation for the Wallabies in the 78th minute but in the end it was a memorable win for the South Africans who earned their first win over the Wallabies in Australia since 2013.
Here is how we rated Jacques Nienaber's side.
15 Willie le Roux - 7.5
A safe presence in the backfield as he dealt with all the Wallabies' kicks with ease. He made an excellent one-handed catch early on in the match and injected flair on the attack when needed.
He was sent to the sin bin in the final moments of the match but the game was well out of the Wallabies' hands by then. Had the direction for his drop goal but not the distance.
14 Canan Moodie - 8
Some of the best right-wingers in the game struggle to keep Marika Koroibete quiet but teenager Canan Moodie rose to the challenge expertly plucking the ball out of the air and charging away for his first test try.
There were some teething moments for the new Springbok such as over-chasing kicks or mistiming his jump but overall it was the kind of performance a 50-test cap international would be proud of.
13 Jesse Kriel - 7
A solid yet not outstanding game from Kriel who did well to keep the inform Len Ikitau at bay.
He didn't get too many opportunities on attack.
12 Damian de Allende - 8
A strong defensive performance and got the Springboks off to a good start with his try.
He did make a few questionable decisions on attack in the early knocking of the game with his kicks out to the wings and although they didn't come off, it kept Australia pinned in their half.
He recovered from an uncharacteristic early knock-on and went on to have a strong game, particularly with the ball in hand.
11 Makazole Mapimpi - 6.5
Mapimpi was surprised to see the yellow card shown after scoring a try in the latter stages of the match but his were at best silly.
He took his chance well to add to his tally after some neat work from Willie Le Roux.
Outside of his try, he defended well, got few opportunities with the ball in hand and chased the Bok up and under well.
10 Damian Willemse - 7
Willemse was a handful for the Wallabies' defence as he managed to beat eight defenders with his swift footwork.
His kicking wasn't quite on song as he missed one penalty to touch and got just one conversion.
However, his up and unders tested the Wallabies' backfield and he had some nice touches on attack. Just two missed tackles after making 12.
9 Jaden Hendrikse - 8
A perfectly weighted kicked resulted in a try for Canan Moodie and that was just one of the good touches from the Springboks' scrumhalf.
He gave his chasers plenty of time to put pressure on the Wallabies' backfield, even when the home side's escort denied the contest.
His service to Willemse and co. was sharp and really helped the Boks on attack. He made a good read on defence in the second half which stalled a promising Australian attack.
8 Jasper Wiese - 8
The kind of outing that Leicester Tigers fans are well accustomed to. Wiese was monstrous with the ball in hand and a willing carrier throughout his performance.
He hit hard in defence and was simply outstanding in every facet of the game.
7 Franco Mostert - 7.5
An industrious performance from Mostert who was duly rewarded with a try as he charged over out wide.
There were question marks over his selection with du Toit nursing an injury but he stepped up and produced on both sides of the ball and at lineout time.
6 Siya Kolisi - 8.5
Kolisi played a big role on two occasions in the build up to Mostert's try and was a real pest at the breakdown winning three turnovers.
He was brutally effective on defence and a hard man to drag down with the ball in hand. One of his best tests of the year.
5 Lood de Jager - 7
De Jager is never shy to throw his weight around on defence and his performance in Sydney was no different.
A safe option at lineout time in the first half but the Boks did lose three at the set piece in total, some of which when he was off the pitch.
He also made another nice clean break.
4 Eben Etzebeth - 8
Took the fight to the Wallabies, literally.
He was in the wars with the Wallabies early on the match clearing out rucks with real intensity and that didn't fade throughout another strong 80-minute performance.
He tackled superbly and produced an excellent offload for de Allende to score. He came up with another lineout steal too.
3 Frans Malherbe - 6
Not as dominant in the scrum as he would have liked but didn't put a foot wrong in open play. Solid outing.
2 Malcolm Marx - 7
A busy man around the park landing hefty hits and made strong ball carries. The Wallabies were able to put pressure on the Boks' lineout but not all the blame can fall at Marx's feet.
1 Steven Kitshoff - 6.5
Played a big 70 minutes and like Malherbe, he didn't quite dominate his opposing prop.
A few penalties at the breakdown as his hands hit the deck and not the ball but Kitshoff got through a ton of work.
Replacements:
16 Deon Fourie - 5
On in the final 10 minutes, scoffed a lineout but was sharp in open play.
17 Ox Nche - 6
A seven-minute stint with the game in the bag, didn't put a foot wrong.
18 Trevor Nyakane - 6
Much like Nche, Nyakane didn't put a foot wrong in his 15 minutes on the pitch.
19 Kwagga Smith - 7
Smith adds so much energy from the bench and did so for a second week in a row against the Wallabies.
He didn't score twice this time but was a pest at the breakdown, forcing an illegal clean from Porecki on one occasions, while landing some good shots on defence and making some strong carries.
20 Duane Vermeulen - 6.5
First test cap from the bench for Vermeulen and it was a positive one. He made his tackles and was strong with his one carry.
21 Cobus Reinach - 6
Seven minutes on his return from injury and he did well to just close out the game.
22 Frans Steyn - 5
A largely anonymous ten-minute cameo from the veteran but the game was wrapped up by the time he came on.
23 Warrick Gelant - n/a
