Sir Ian McGeechan takes charge at Yorkshire Carnegie

Sir Ian McGeechan, the former British and Irish Lions head coach, has taken temporary charge of Yorkshire Carnegie following the departure of head coach Tommy McGee.
McGeechan, who is the Championship club’s executive president, will head up the coaching team that includes former Bradford Bulls coach Francis Cummins, Andy Rock and Dave Baldwin.
McGee, 35, was only appointed to the post of head coach in November in place of Gary Mercer, who left the club last month, but the club announced on Friday that he had also left “by mutual consent”.
