Sharks CEO becomes managing director of Brive

Since 2019, Eduard Coetzee was the CEO of the Sharks in South Africa. It was announced earlier today that The Board of Dicectors of CA Brive met with the chairman Thierry Blandinières and they appointed Eduard (Ed) Coetzee as Managing Director to replace Xavier Ric.


Previously, he held the positions of Chief Operating Officer (2015-2019) and Commercial and Marketing Director (2013-2015) at the same club. Ed was a high-level rugby player, playing more than 100 games for the Sharks and more than 200 for Aviron Bayonnais and Biarritz Olympique (2005-2011). He represented South Africa at all levels and the French Barbarians.

He holds a degree in financial management, a Master's degree in inclusive innovation and a doctorate in inclusion and diversity. Ed has French nationality, his three sons were born in France.
