Seatwave And Ticketmaster Protest Against Irish Ticket Resale Proposals

According to Irish media reports, the secondary ticketing website, Seatwave and its holding company, Ticketmaster have protested against proposed legislation in Ireland that would make it illegal to resell tickets for more than 10% profit. The new restrictions will ensure that those looking to sell tickets for exorbitant prices will have the profits from those sales balanced by fines. Breaches of the 10% resale limit are suggested to result in fines of up to €5,000 (£4,250). The bill, which is not being opposed by government, has been put forward by Sinn Féin TD Maurice Quinlivan.
