Scotland Player Ratings v England

15. Stuart Hogg - 7
Calm and collected at the back, even when he was under pressure, Hogg managed to get his side out of some high-pressure situations. He kicked well out of hand and ejected paced into the backline when Scotland did have ball in hand - which was seldom.

14. Darcy Graham - 8.5
Sped through holes in the England defence and beat multiple defenders when he did get the ball.
A threat each time he touched the ball and did brilliantly to skin Joe Marchant in the build up to the try for Ben White.
13. Chris Harris - 6.5
Defensively strong as he shut down several England attacks. Scotland had little ball in hand and Harris saw even less of the ball.
12. Sam Johnson - 6
Stock standard performance from Sam Johnson. He was solid on either side of the ball but got little chance to impress on attack.
11. Duhan van der Merwe - 7.5
Brilliant under the high ball and put England under pressure when he chased Finn Russell and Ali Price's kick. He was a handful for the England defence.
10. Finn Russell - 8
A brilliant performance from the Scottish pivot whose kicking was on point the entire game. His double cross-field kick led to the penalty try in the latter stages of the game while he regularly managed to split the England backfield. His game management was excellent in the latter stages too. Some scares throughout the game and missed kick to touch but will be quickly forgotten.

9. Ali Price - 7
Accurate outing from the Scottish scrumhalf. His kicking and passing was on point in a solid 50 odd minute performance.
1. Rory Sutherland - 6
Held his own at scrum time while he won a turnover and was solid defensively.
2. George Turner - 6
Scotland's lineout was effective while Turner was on the pitch while he was strong over the ball-winning two turnovers.
3. Zander Fagerson - 6
He was put under some pressure in the scrums but managed to hold up his end. Busy defensively making 12 tackles.
4. Jonny Gray - 6
Busy on both sides of the ball while he ran the lineout accurately along with Gilchrist. Conceded a silly penalty but recovered well to have a solid game.
5. Grant Gilchrist - 7
Aggressive carries and solid defence while running a tidy lineout, assured performance.
6. Jamie Ritchie - 6.5
An important player for Townsend, who he will hope is available next week. Strong in all departments but did concede the odd penalty or two which does come with his job in his back row.
7. Hamish Watson - 7
A threat over the ball and had his usual strong carries. Some down moments like getting driven back by Itoje but sound nonetheless.
8. Matt Fagerson - 8
Man of the match in a combative performance where he charged into England players both on defence and on attack.
