Alex Rieder has joined Ashley Johnson and Tom Cruse in re-signing with Wasps.
Rieder enjoyed a standout 2016/17 campaign, making 20 appearances and scoring his first try for the club against Exeter Chiefs in the 35-35 draw at Sandy Park in February.
He also made a strong start to the 2017/18 season before unfortunately dislocating his shoulder against Harlequins in September, but he is progressing well as he prepares to return to full fitness in the New Year.
Rieder has made 30 appearances in black and gold in total since arriving from Rotherham Titans in 2015. He helped the Titans to reach the Championship play-offs and also gained personal recognition when he was named Rotherham’s “Player of the Season” as well as being nominated for “Championship Player of the Season.”
Rieder’s ability to play anywhere across the back-row has significantly benefited the team, while his unique personality is also renowned for keeping the squad entertained.
