Red Roses squad for pre-season camp

Thirty-seven Red Roses will link up today (Monday 26th August) as preparations continue for September internationals against France and New Zealand.
 
Maisy Allen, Brooke Bradley and Delaney Burns have been recalled to the squad.
 
Second row Cath O’Donnell and back row Sadia Kabeya have been ruled out of both matches and the WXV 1 tournament due to knee and ankle injuries, respectively.
 
Head coach John Mitchell said: “It is sad we won’t see Cath and Sadia in action over the next few months.
 
“Cath has been in outstanding condition and performing at a great level throughout pre-season. We know how important her dream of playing in at the Rugby World Cup next year and we will support her every step of the way to help her achieve that.
 
“No one wants to lose a World Class player to injury and in Sadia’s case, she was unfortunately behind the eight ball from the start of pre-season with a hamstring injury. She had worked hard to return to contact exposure before suffering a setback with her ankle. We’re sad to lose her but we are looking forward to her returning to our environment next year and ripping into 2025.
 
“As with Meg, Cath and Sadia’s misfortune presents a chance for someone else in the squad to step up and attack the opportunity.”
 
Rosie Galligan (ankle) will miss the September internationals but remains in contention to be selected for the final WXV 1 squad which will travel to Canada.
 
Abbie Ward has a minor knee issue and will rehabilitate with Bristol Bears. She is expected back in camp for the warm-up matches.
 
Kelsey Clifford and Bo Westcombe-Evans will continue their Return to Performance in camp.
