PROD2: Round 1 wrap-up

Round 1 of the ProD2 was observed in its entirety, thankfully, without any disruption from Covid-19. 

Much attention surrounded the battle which catalysed the 2021-22 competition, that between newly relegated teams, Bayonne and Agen. 

After the disastrous 2020-21 campaign which saw them beaten in every single one of their fixtures, Agen tasted defeat yet again as Bayonne ran out 37-16 winners. 

Nevers kicked their campaign off to a winning start by putting Vannes away 20-16 while Montauban also enjoyed a four-point win, this time over Bourg-en-Bresse (24-20). 

Provence travelled to meet Colomiers but came unstuck against their rivals, 34-19. 

Carcassone tasted victory in fairly convincing manner against Rouen, 30-14. 

Mont-de-Marsan showed that they will be competitive this season with a solid, 37-14 victory Narbonne while Beziers just snuck past Aurillac (22-19) and Grenoble and Oyonnax finished the round off with a 22-14 victory to the latter.
