Munster made it two wins from two to start the Pro14 season as they edged Edinburgh 25-23 in round 2. Munster started brightly with two penalties in the opening 5 minutes to lead 6-0. Edinburgh edged ahead with the game's first try, but Munster reclaimed the lead with a third penalty midway through the first half. A second Edinburgh try saw the visitors hit the front, with Munster pulling three points back with a penalty with the final play of the first half as the hosts trailed 14-12 at the break. The sides traded early second half penalties, with Edinburgh then picking up a yellow. Munster slotted the resulting penalty to sneak into the lead 18-17 heading into the final quarter. The sea-saw battle continued as Edinburgh, despite being a player down, kicked a penalty to regain the lead 20-18 with a little over ten minutes remaining. With just over 5 minutes to go, another penalty for Edinburgh looked to have won it for the visitors at 23-18. However, there would be one last twist in the tail, as Munster would cross for their only try of the match with around three minutes to play to tie things up, with the conversion seeing them snach victory.
