The Premiership was well and truly underway today with a total of 8 teams in action. We selected our players from across England.

Danny Cipriani - Gloucester

It did not take long for DC to settle in with his new side as he looked to have not only adopted Johan Ackermann's style of play but excelled in it.

The English International controlled the Gloucester attack and came up with a sublime try assist for Matt Banahan.


A hat tip to Teimana Harrison who recorded match highs in both the carries (12) and tackles (14) department against Gloucester and won two turnovers.

Ben Tapuai - Harlequins


The former Wallaby centre is another player who shined on debut for his new club.

Tapuai was devasting with ball in hand making 35 running metres, beating 6 defenders and made 6 clean breaks.

It must be said that he did receive fantastic service from Marcus Smith and the Harlequins pack but he made the most of it. 

No player made more carries, clean breaks and beat more defenders than Tapuai in the match.

Nathan Hughes - Wasps 

Hughes would have felt under pressure for a starting place following the signing of Nizaam Carr but the English International upstaged the Springbok tonight against Worcester.

He made a massive 23 carries winning 85 metres for his side and beat 6 defenders. It wasn't all out attack for the loose forward as he weighed-in with 8 tackles and a turnover.

Josh Adams had a great game for Worcester on the other end of the pitch.

Matt Kvesic - Exeter Chiefs

Was simply superb for the Chiefs tonight as they ran in 6 tries to smash Leicester Tigers 40-6.

The flanker was all over the pitch and was rewarded with a try in the closing minutes of the game. 

His fellow loose forward, Sam Simmonds, was just as impressive hitting double digits in the tackles and carries made departments while also gaining 80 running metres.
