Premiership Highlights: Saracens v Gloucester
- 869
A hat trick of tries from skipper Tom Woolstencroft saw a much changed Saracens side cruise to a 36-20 home win over Gloucester in round 16 of the Premiership. Gloucester opened the scoring with an early penalty, but Saracens kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting three of their own to build a 9-3 lead. Gloucester then crossed for the games first try to edge ahead by a single point, but the lead did not last long as Saracens hit back with a try just before halftime to take a 14-10 advantage into the break. The Saracens pack gained the ascendancy and two tries in the opening ten minutes of the second half off the back of powerful driving mauls saw the hosts into a commanding 26-10 lead. A Gloucester score with around 20 minutes to play gave the visitors a glimmer of hope, but it was quickly snuffed out as Saracens ran in a further two tries in the final 15 minutes to seal an impressive victory from their young side.
