The Exeter Chiefs extended their advantage atop the Premiership standings with a 26-13 home win over the struggling Leicester Tigers in round 14. Leicester got on the board first with an early penalty followed by a drop goal to open a 6-0 lead. Exeter crossed for the games opening try to close within a point and a second score on the stroke of halftime saw them take a 12-6 lead into the break. Exeter got off to the perfect start to the second half, with a try giving them some breathing room at 19-6. A penalty try to Exeter then gave the hosts a comfortable 26-6 lead, with Leicester picking up a yellow card. However, a Leicester penalty try followed shortly after with the Chiefs also being reduced to 14 players. Neither side was able to trouble the scorers in the final quarter as Exeter wrapped up a bonus point victory.
