The game was turned on its head as the Cherry and Whites stormed back with two tries in quick succession to surge into a 24-18 lead heading into the final quarter. Gloucester then picked up a yellow card to go down to 14 players. It went from bad to worse for the visitors, as Bristol were awarded a penalty try, with Gloucester picking up another yellow card to go down to 13 players with just under 15 minutes to play. Gloucester missed a penalty to reclaim the lead with 10 minutes remaining, with Bristol slotting a late long range kick at goal to seal the victory.
