Pollard's amputation scare

According to SArugbymag.co.za, Springbok flyhalf Handré Pollard was told he could lose his arm because of a serious shoulder infection.

"There was a possibility of amputation...if we had let it go another month, there was a big chance of that," Pollard told EWN Sport.

The flyhalf tore knee ligaments at a Bulls training session in February. He then opted to have surgery on a shoulder that he had injured while playing club rugby in Japan.

While at the Pretoria hospital, Pollard picked up a shoulder infection that required him to spend an additional five weeks there.
