Owen Farrell to undergo ankle surgery

England captain Owen Farrell is scheduled to undergo ankle surgery on Friday 19 November to repair the damage he sustained last weekend against Australia.
Farrell left the field in the second half of the match after a decent contribution to England’s score through his boot. From the inside centre channel, he lined up next to young flyhalf Marcus Smith but was often seen taking the ball at first receiver.
He is replaced in the number 12 channel by Manu Tuilagi who will help greatly to combat the physicality of Springbok inside centre Damian de Allende on Saturday.
Farrell is expected to be out for a significant length of time as he recovers through rehabilitation.
