Ospreys sign Fijian captain for midfield cover

The Ospreys confirmed today that Fiji captain, Waisea Nayacalevu had joined the team from Sale Sharks. Nayacalevu will join the team as injury cover for Owen Watkinuntil the end of the 24/25 season.

The 6’4” powerhouse centre brings a plethora of experience to the squad and is set to play a key role, with the Ospreys still in the knockouts of the EPCR Challenge Cup and a BKT URC playoff spot still on the cards.

A walking highlight reel, Nayacalevu is a destructive ball carrier, whilst also having a momentum killing hit ready to go off at any moment.

The Fijian made 200 appearances for Stade Français during his 10 years in France, picking up a monumental 82 tries in the process. Nayacalevu also spent time at Toulon before moving to Sale at the beginning of the 24/25 season.
