Leicester Tigers have agreed a new deal with George Martin beyond the 2022/23 season.
The versatile forward, capable of playing in the second row and back row, graduated from the Tigers Academy ahead of the 2019/20 campaign after winning back-to-back Under-18 League titles.
Martin attended Brooksby Melton College while a member of the club’s academy programme and represented England at Under-18 age grade level.
He made his senior club debut on the opening weekend of the 2019/20 season, away to Worcester Warriors in the Premiership Rugby Cup, and has made 41 senior appearances to date.
Martin made his Test debut during the 2021 Six Nations and also played in the 2022 Gallagher Premiership Final win over Saracens.
Speaking about the new deal, Leicester Tigers Head Coach Steve Borthwick said: “George is a tough, ruthless, hard working player who puts in the effort every single day to improve.”
“He has shown incredible resilience, as a very young man, in playing across the back row and at lock throughout his time in senior rugby.
“There is so much growth left in George’s game, which I am delighted to be able to continue to be a part of and witness, up close, for years to come.
“George has an enormous amount of passion for the club, the area and community and is hungry to continue helping take Leicester Tigers forward.”
