Queen Elizabeth School, Wakefield, made it third time lucky in their quest to beat Warwick and become NatWest Schools Cup under-15 champions, by defeating the title holders – who had bettered them on the last two finals at Twickenham – 15-6.
The reigning champions, who travelled down from the Midlands in close to 20 buses, struck first blood, with captain Tom Fawcett opting to kick at goal after eight minutes.
The outside centre was vindicated in his decision, nailing the three-pointer himself.
