Montpellier targeting England & Lion lock
- 2025
According to Midi Olympique Montpellier could make to massive signings following next year's World Cup.
The report suggests that France and Toulon captain Guilhem Guirado is on the club's shortlist with his contract with Toulon expiring after the World Cup.
Guirado, 32, is likely to retire after the World Cup and would be available to Montpellier for the entire season if he were to sign with the club.
The other player linked to the club is England and British and Irish lock Maro Itoje.
Montpellier owner Mohed Altrad commented on the rumour saying "It depends on the opinion of coach Vern Cotter, but we would be interested because he is a very high-level player"
Someone at #Midol asked Mohed Altrad the obvious question after it was reported in UK media that #Top14 clubs are chasing Maro Itoje. His obvious non-answer: "It depends on the opinion of coach Vern Cotter, but we would be interested because he is a very high level player"

Itoje would demand a high salary at the club, something that would not worry Altrad who spent a great deal of money to get Johann Goosen to join the club.
