Jones - 'Any player not selected hasn't done well enough'
Eddie Jones has laid down a marker ahead of announcing his Elite Player Squad on Wednesday by saying anyone not picked can have no complaints.
Jones, who confirmed he will take the role of attacking coach, said: "You have to be able to increase the tempo of the game.
"The old days where you could just strangulate teams [are gone]."
England begin their Six Nations campaign against Scotland on 6 February.
"I accept that there will be criticism of the squad, [but] the player that hasn't been selected hasn't done well enough, it's as simple as that," he said.
"The players select themselves because they express themselves in a way that I can see them being a profitable part of a winning England team."
Dai Young concerned about Launchbury
Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young has expressed his concern about Joe Launchbury, after the lock took 2 knocks to the head in their 32-22 win over Worcester Warriors.
Launchbury came off the field looking groggy, which will not be music to England boss Eddie Jones' ears as he is set to announce his EPS ahead of the 6 Nations on Wednesday.
Young has said Launchbury could be out from 1-6 weeks.
"He's taken a nasty head knock, but he's up and about," Young said.
"He's talking and appears to be fine, but will have to go through the relevant protocols. It could take one or six weeks. It's impossible to tell at this stage.
"I still expect to see Launchbury, Elliot Daly, Joe Simpson, Matt Mullan and James Haskell selected in the England squad."
