The Newport Gwent Dragons Lock followed medical advice and has announced his retirement from rugby after suffering a 14-month layoff with a serious knee injury.
Gloucester centre Henry Trinder undergoes knee surgery
Trinder has had to undergo further surgery on his right knee and will be ruled out of playing action, the club confirms.
The 27-year-old centre battled back to fitness last season following an injury to the same knee in February 2015, but suffered a new injury towards the end of the season.
