Mike Brown's Quins career sees abrupt end

Mike Brown’s hopes of once again pulling on the Harlequins jersey were dashed last night after an independent disciplinary panel dismissed the 35 year-old's appeal against a 6-match ban for stamping.
The ruling means that Brown’s long and distinguished career with Harlequins is now at an end, as he makes his way to Newcastle Falcons next season and will not be allowed to compete in the remainder of the current Premiership tournament.
The panel’s statement reads as follows:
“The appeal was dismissed. The Appeal Panel did not accept the submissions that the Disciplinary Panel had come to a decision to which no reasonable body could have come, particularly bearing in mind that the burden is on the player to establish on the balance of probabilities that no reasonable Disciplinary Panel could have come to the same conclusion.
"The original sanction stands.”
