Michele Lamaro: "Precision in defense and concreteness in attack to overcome Edinburgh"

On Friday evening the green and whites will play away from home in Edinburgh for the second trip in a row on Scottish soil. It will be a match between two teams that are part of the same Italian-Scottish shield and the match will be presented by Michele Lamaro, co-captain of the Lions.
Michele, returning to the Glasgow race: what lessons did you learn?
“We can do better in many aspects, we have created many opportunities but we have not managed to materialize them. Even in defense we were not very precise in some situations and this allowed Glasgow to score some tries that we could have avoided with a little more accuracy. In attack we have to be more concrete and score more points . "
How much anger is there for having wasted so many opportunities?
“'I think it's the most annoying point, that of not being able to bring home a point. We know that every point is fundamental for the ranking. We have to do better, be better this week. We have another opportunity, against a great team like Edinburgh, so we want to be able to make the most of our cards."
Away to Edinburgh on Friday evening: what game awaits you?
“It will be a similar match to the last one. Clearly Edinburgh is a team that knows how to play rugby and knows how to take advantage of opportunities. In defense we will have to be good at not giving them too many opportunities, in attack it will be the same principle. Creating opportunities like last Saturday, but managing to convert into points by scoring some good tries."
What kind of team is Edinburgh?
“We know their strengths, they are a team that creates and takes their opportunities. We have to be able to stay in our system, execute it the right way. The static phases will be fundamental: scrum, touchout and drive. It will be very important to stop their attack and create pressure with ours."
You are co-captain of this team: what impressions did the group make on you after these first few weeks? How much room for improvement is there?
“After returning from the World Cup, the national team boys integrated well into the group. We were lucky to have found a solid group, already well blended; this was seen in the results on the pitch. We must be able to develop our game, create more opportunities and exploit them. The difference between medium and large teams is to excel in the small details and implement them consistently."
