Maxime Mermoz returns to Toulouse

Toulouse has confirmed the signing of two players ahead of the 2018/19 season with centre Theo Belan and Maxime Mermoz signing two-year deals with the club.

The pair join the likes of Pita Ahki and Pierre Fouyssac who had already signed for the club. 

Theo Belan, 26, began his career at Toulon before joining LOU Rugby ahead of the 2016-2017 season. He now has 44 Top 14 caps and has already taken part in 7 European Cup matches.

Mermoz returns to his former club almost a decade after leaving for Perpignan and has represented Perpignan, Toulon, Leicester and Newcastle Falcons since. 

The 35-Test cap international said  " Returning to Toulouse is in a way a homecoming, and I am particularly pleased. I am about to find a club that I know well, although it has logically experienced some changes since my departure."
