Matt Kvesic was relieved to secure a maximum points haul as Gloucester faltered past Zebre on a frustrating afternoon at Kingsholm.
The victory sees the Cherry and Whites cement their place at the top of Pool Five but it was far from plain sailing.
After leading 21-5 at half-time following tries for Steve McColl and James Hook, Gloucester lost their composure.
But Kvesic sparked a late rally, which saw his side clinch the all-important bonus-point ahead of next week's reverse at Parma.
