Match report: Leicester Tigers 28 Sale Sharks 8
- 935
Leicester Tigers produced their most fluid performance in a long while to beat fellow play-off contenders, Sale Sharks 28-8 at Welford Road.
A penalty try for their marauding pack, plus one for the outstanding Laurence Pearce helped the hosts to a 20-3 lead at half-time.
Tigers couldn’t find the same sort of form after the break and Tom Arscott’s 51st-minute try hinted at an unlikely Sale comeback.
Leicester regained control though and Seremaia Bai’s try with two minutes left not only iced the win but led to a frantic, if unsuccessful, search for a bonus point fourth try.
