Kerr-Barlow sees himself continuing in the Top 14

Back from injury to face Lyon on Saturday, Tawera Kerr-Barlow spoke about his future on the sidelines of the pre-match press conference. The All Black scrum-half from La Rochelle hopes to continue his career in France. He will be 35 in the summer of 2025.

He is a big name that could well shake up the new-build market even more.At the end of his contract in 2025 with Stade Rochelais, Tawera Kerr-Barlow expressed this Thursday afternoon his desire to continue his career in the Top 14. Without however excluding the possibility of an extension of his current contract.

" Is this really my last season at La Rochelle? Yes, I think so. Is an extension an option? I'm not the right person to talk to. Am I going to end my career? No. I'm going to continue, of course. In New Zealand? In the Top 14! " replied the scrum-half, questioned on the sidelines of the press conference before the Lyon game, an opponent against whom the 34-year-old All Black (28 caps) will make his return from a torn thigh which happened during the first day of the championship.

At Stade Rochelais since December 2017, the 2015 world champion – a key part of the team – has played 165 matches (132 starts) in the maritime jersey. He has 32 tries to his name with the Yellow and Black, the last of which was scored at the beginning of September against Toulon.
