JWC: Goodhue hails valiant Argentina effort
New Zealand U20 captain Jack Goodhue hailed the effort of the Argentina U20 side following a narrow 32-29 win last Saturday.

Only a late penalty from Hurricanes fly-half Otere Black separated the two sides at the final whistle in a monstrous effort from the Pumitas, but they fell agonisingly short just days after being beaten by a late-minute penalty from Tomàs Quinlan of Ireland.

Goodhue was relieved that his side came through a severe test, describing the Argentinian opposition as ‘relentless’ and paying them full credit for their performance.

"We knew they were going to come out firing in the first half, the first 20 minutes, but they were relentless, they never stopped and I take my hat off to them, they were just awesome,” said Goodhue.

"I think maybe if we had beaten them by a lot of points it might not have been good in the long run, but we will just have to wait and see. We are thankful to get the win.”

New Zealand are eyeing a first U20 title since 2011, having finished as runners-up, fourth and third in the last three tournaments.
