Rory Telfer (Ireland) and Yoshiki Omachi (Japan) will each appear before separate independent Disciplinary Committees having received red cards in their respective World Rugby U20 Championship 2023 matches on Thursday, as will James McNabney (Ireland) having been cited.
Rory Telfer (Ireland)
Ireland replacement Rory Telfer will appear before an independent judicial committee on Saturday, 1 July having received a red card in Ireland’s Pool B match against Australia at the World Rugby U20 Championship on 29 June for an offence contrary to Law 9.13 (dangerous tackle).
The independent Disciplinary Committee that will hear the matter is chaired by Marcello d’Orey (Portugal), joined by former international coach Frank Hadden (Scotland) and former international referee Valeriu Toma (Romania).
James McNabney (Ireland)
Ireland back-row James McNabney will appear before an independent judicial committee on Saturday, 1 July after he was cited for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.13 (dangerous tackle) in Ireland’s Pool B match against Australia at the World Rugby U20 Championship on 29 June.
The independent Disciplinary Committee that will hear the matter is chaired by Marcello d’Orey (Portugal), joined by former players Olly Kohn (Wales) and Stefan Terblanche (South Africa).
Yoshiki Omachi (Japan)
Japan centre Yoshiki Omachi will appear before an independent judicial committee on Saturday, 1 July having received a red card in Japan’s Pool A match against Wales at the World Rugby U20 Championship on 29 June for an offence contrary to Law 9.20(a) (dangerous charging into a ruck or maul).
The independent Disciplinary Committee that will hear the matter is chaired by Stephen Hardy (Australia), joined by former international referees Donal Courtney (Ireland) and Juan Pablo Spirandelli (Argentina).
