Saracens snuck into the last eight with a hard fought 27-24 home win over pool winners Racing 92 in the final round of pool matches in the Champions Cup. Saracens got off to a dream start with two early tries to lead 14-0, with Racing also picking up a yellow card. Racing got on the board with their first try, but a Saracens penalty shortly after made it 17-7. Racing hit back with two tries in quick succession to storm into a 21-17 advantage. It went from bad to worse for Saracens, who picked up a red card just before halftime, trailing by four points at the break. Racing added a penalty early in the second half, but a Saracens try saw the score deadlocked at 24-24. A titanic battle followed, with Racing picking up a yellow card with a little over ten minutes to play. Saracens slotted a penalty with around five minutes remaining which would prove the difference between the sides, with both progressing to the quarter-finals.
