- 1716
A relatively uneventful game burst into life in final minutes of the first half when the Siya Kolisi and Raymond Rhule combined to score a fantastic counter-attack to give the Stormers a 3-7 lead at the break. The Sharks came out firing in the second half with Lukhanyo Am setting up and finishing a brilliant try just two minutes into the second half. Damian Willemse levelled the scores seven minutes later before Ramone Samuels dived over in the corner in the 52nd minute. Dewaldt Duvenage was then yellow carded which gave the Sharks the opportunity to hit back and the home side capitalised on it when Robert du Preez threw a great dummy and offloaded to his younger brother Jean-Luc who went over under the sticks. Thomas du Toit scored a crucial try to give the Sharks a 7 point lead with 7 minutes left to play. The Stormers battled hard in the final minutes but the Sharks kept them out to secure the win.
