Bath picked up a much needed victory with an impressive 27-22 away win over the Sale Sharks in round 9 of the Premiership. Bath got off to the perfect start with a try just two minutes in, with Sale getting on the board with a penalty midway through the first half. Bath cancelled that out with a penalty shortly after, but Sale hit back with their first try to level matters at 10-10 after 26 minutes. Bath ran in a second try around the half hour mark to regain the lead and would finish the first half in style, with a third try with the final play seeing them take a handy 24-10 advantage into the break. Sale needed to strike first in the second half and did just that with a try only three minutes in to reduce the deficit to 15-24. Bath added a penalty 56 minutes in to regain control of the match at 27-15 heading into the final quarter. Sale applied the pressure but were kept out by some fantastic Bath defence. Sale thought they had the much needed score to get back into the match with 5 minutes remaining, but the try was chalked off due to a forward pass. Sale would snatch a losing bonus point with a try with time well up on the clock, but the night belonged to Bath who claimed a well deserved win.
