The 2014 winners ran in 10 tries against Spain in the 2017 Womens Rugby World Cup opener in Dublin. Megan Jones opened the scoring in the first minute for the Red Roses before Richmond wing Kay Wilson stole the show with four tries, completing her hat-trick in an impressive 31 minutes. Diana Gasso got Spain on the scoreboard before England ran in six further tries in the second half. Replacement Emily Scarratt, Harriet Millar-Mills, Alex Matthews, Amy Cokayne and Lydia Thompson completed the rout.
