- 1889
Some big wins in Round 10 of the Championship as Jersey Reds, Ealing Trailfinders, Saracens, Ampthill and Nottingham all tasted victory.
The round kicked off with the Jersey Reds tackling Hartpury at the ALPAS Arena. It was Jersey’s day as they posted a big score on their unlucky opponents. The final whistle sounded with the scoreboard reading 50-19 to the visitors, who ran in 8 tries and kicked five conversions.
Doncaster travelled to Trailfinders Sports Ground to take on Ealing in the second fixture of the round. The visitors walked away from the game disappointed after they were beaten 38-15.
Saracens wiped the floor with Coventry Rugby in a 73-0 mauling at Butts Park Arena. It was a great performance by Mark McCall’s men who managed 11 tries (including a hat-trick by Elliot Daly).
The penultimate game of the round saw Ampthill record a 31-22 victory against Richmond. Ampthill will be satisfied with their attacking play which yielded five tries.
Finally, the Bedford ran Nottingham very close but it was the latter who eventually prevailed on their home turf. Final score: 22-20.
