Gloucester bounced back from their humiliating opening night defeat to Northampton with a hard-fought 34-27 victory over Sale Sharks at Kingsholm.
Sale scored four tries to Gloucester's three but 19 points from new signing Grieg Laidlaw's boot carried the hosts to victory as they fought back after going into the break 6-17 down, after the Sharks ran in tries by wing Tom Arscott, scrum-half Chris Cusiter and full-back Luke McLean.
