Ireland 24-35 Wales
Ireland fought hard from beginning to end but were always second to a more experienced Wales team lead by superb out-half, Daniel Jones. The Welsh were just that bit more physical than the Irish tonight and finished their chances well when they entered the home 22. The tightly contested game will stand to both sides as they continue to develop through out the campaign.
Scotland 24-6 England
A impressive performance from the Scots in attack and defence lead them to a 24-6 win. 4 tries scored by the home side in tough conditions established the victory as England struggled to get a strangle hold on the game. Up next for Scotland, a trip to Wales while England travel to Italy.
France 40-3 Italy
A great opening performance from both sides, a dominant French side lead the way from the start but the Italians showed promise with a strong set piece. France the winners in the opening round sets both teams up for an interesting tournament ahead.
Aviva Premiership
Bath 11-15 Gloucester
Gloucester come away with a derby win for the first time in four years. The first half was dominated by Bath, in possession terms especially, and their early try had them in the lead at the break. The weather turned and the wind picked up in the second half, allowing Gloucester keep the ball tight and grind out a number of crucial penalties. Hook knocked most of them over, and a late goal line defensive effort secured the famous win. Will Heinz named MOTM.

Ulster 17-15 Newport Gwent Dragons
Trailing for the game, and denied a vital try in the last quarter, Ulster stole victory from the Dragons' clutch. Jackson the hero and Man of the Match, with a phenomenal 55m kick in the dying minutes. Dragons will be devastated after putting up a strong claim for the spoils. The visitors were relentless in defence and creative in attack, keeping a determined Ulster side at bay for 78 minutes. Ultimately, Ulster come away with the win bolstering their chances of a top 4 finish.
