With games taking place in the Premiership & PRO12 tonight we take a look and who stood up & performed for their sides tonight in some tough conditions.

Despite the conditions being shockingly difficult and the overall Ulster performance being underwhelming, the South African scrum-half was fantastic. He dictated the pace of the game with expert kicking and beautifully accurate passing. Time and time again he displayed his incredible spatial awareness, timing passes perfectly to set his team mates away. His kicking off the tee was reliable as always, his only miss an extremely difficult touchline conversion. His efforts were rewarded when yet again he was crowned the man of the match. As his time at the club comes to an end, he is constantly reminding the Ulster fans exactly what they will be missing in his absence.

The former British and Irish Lion was outstanding today as he helped his Exeter side to an impressive victory at Welford Road against his former Leicester teammates. His performance epitomized his team as a whole as his intensity level did not drop from minute 1 to 80. His stats on the night back up the decision to give him the MOTM award. He made 15 tackles, missing just 1, and managed to win 7 balls in the lineout, stealing 3 of the Tigers own throws. England certainly have an abundance of riches in the lock position at the moment but a recall to the training squad isn’t out of the question for the Chiefs talisman.

The out-half again showed why so many believe he deserves a start in the Welsh shirt next Friday night against Ireland. He consistently seems to produce fantastic all-around performances for the Ospreys in the Guinness Pro 12. On a sloppy night for rugby he was at the helm guiding the Swansea-based side to an important win which puts them back at the top of table awaiting results tomorrow. Again and again the number ten placed Edinburgh back on their heels as he intelligently and accurately placed the ball into the corners and he also had 100% success rate from the tee which was crucial to his side’s victory. When the opportunity arose he created his side’s only try with a lovely dummy and deft offload into the bread basket of Josh Matavesi, who ran through to score under the posts unopposed.
