Friday Night's Star Performers

Friday Night's Star Performers

After a busy a night of action in the PRO12 & Premiership we've picked out the 5 players who starred for their respective teams...

Kieran Marmion - Connacht

Despite being replaced by Caolin Blade early on in the second half, Marmion was certainly a stand out player in Connacht's convincing victory against Edinburgh. The scrum half controlled the game brilliantly, using his forwards to crash the ball up when necessary and knowing the right time to spread the ball wide to his back line. Marmion caused serious problems for Edinburgh's defense around the fringes as he went himself on several occasions, putting his side on the front foot.

Finn Russell – Glasgow Warriors

The out-half was the stand-out player at Rodney Parade tonight as he led his side to a crucial away victory. Again we saw how well-rounded the Scotsman’s game is tonight. He carried majestically making a couple of clean breaks from both first-receiver and from second-centre later in the game. He was flawless from the kicking tee, scoring six from six. He also kicked fantastically out of hand, pinning the Dragons back in their half time and time again.

Alex Lozowski - Saracens

The young fly half had an outstanding performance in Saracens 39-0 demolition over Bristol. Lozowski ran the show for Saracens and managed to grab two tries. For his first Lozowski showed slick footwork to tear through the Bristol defensive line, for his second Lozowski showed a great athletic ability to dive on the ball after a kick was blocked down. Lozowski was named in the England squad today and after todays performance it's not hard to see why.

George North - Northampton Saints

The Welsh winger was pivotal this evening in Northampton's victory over Exeter.
When The Saints needed it North stepped up showing his class as a finisher in securing his sides first try. Soon after he single handedly took on and beat the Chiefs defence with a superb individual burst to put debutant Rory Hutchinson in for Saints' second try. He'll be looking to maintain this form moving forward and defences all over will be weary of the threat he brings.

Louis Picamoles - Northampton Saints

The big No. 8 put in a huge shift and was a key man in his sides' victory. Making countless carries all night long he lead the charge and gave Saints the platform from which to attack. The new French signing is certainly settling in well to this Northampton outfit.
