Sean O’Brien set to miss the start of the Six Nations
Leinster confirmed that their backrow forward has undergone a hip procedure, saying in a statement: “Sean O’Brien saw a specialist this week for the tightness in his hip as it hadn’t responded to treatment as we would have liked.
“As a result he had a small procedure and the target is to have O’Brien back available during the Six Nations window.” Full story
Hartpury sign George Perkins, Sam Bedlow & Aaron Chapman on loan
Hartpury RFC have announced the acquisition, on loan, of George Perkins, Sam Bedlow and Aaron Chapman from near neighbours and fellow Championship side Bristol Rugby.
Two of the players, George Perkins and Sam Bedlow, are already training with Hartpury and both have played against the Red & Blacks in recent seasons. Full story
Doncaster Knights academy star Sam Jones pens pro deal
19-year-old flanker Sam Jones has penned a professional contract with Championship club, Doncaster Knights.
Sam scored a hat-trick on his debut for the academy before going on to be an integral part of the squad that lifted the BUCS Northern Conference Plate last season and his potential saw him called into the Knights training squad for pre-season. Full story
Adam Radwan & Simon Uzokwe extend contracts with Falcons
Newcastle Falcons duo Adam Radwan and Simon Uzokwe have extended their contracts with the Premiership club.
20-year-old Radwan became Newcastle Falcons’ first new signing for the 2017-18 season, having agreed senior academy terms.
England Students cap Simon Uzokwe joined the Falcons in the summer of 2016 from Darlington Mowden Park, for whom he played during his studies at Sunderland University. Full story
Marfo to miss opening two 6 Nations matches
Edinburgh and Scotland prop Darryl Marfo has been ruled out for the first two matches of the Six Nations as he continues his rehabilitation from a back injury.
The 27-year-old has three caps, starting in all three games of the fairly recent November International series for Scotland in which he made his debut. Full story
Paul Jordaan extends La Rochelle stay
La Rochelle has announced that South African-born centre Paul Jordaan has re-signed with the club and will remain with the Top 14 pace setters until at least 2021.
Jordaan arrived at the club from the Sharks last season and has made 15 appearances for the club in all competition's this season scoring 3 tries and assisting a further 6. Full story
