Fiji win the Pacific Nations Cup for the Fourth Consecutive Time

Fiji scored 6 tries on their way to lift the Pacific Nations Cup for the fourth time in as many years. 

The home side headed into the clash against Georgia off the back of a nail-biting 24-22 win over fellow Islanders Samoa last week.

Georgia was bidding to become the first non-Pacific Nation to win the competition but in the end, Fiji had too much firepower outscoring their opposition 6 tries to two. 

Georgia was the first team on the board through Soso Matiashvili's boot in the 9th minute but Henry Seniloli put the home side ahead when he made up for his earlier error by pouncing on a loose ball at the back of Georgia's scrum to score.

The lively halfback doubled up soon after when Semi Radradra sent him over the line with some great interplay. Georgia hit back through there forwards when Otar Giorgadze went over the line from a strong maul and Alexander Toua scored his side's second following some superb skill by flyhalf Lasha Jhmaladze. 

Fiji fought back in the second half when Jale Vatubua powered over the line from short range before replacement scrumhalf Frank Lomani extended their lead seconds after coming onto the pitch.

Lomani doubled up after Radradra pounced on a loose ball and sent Vereniki Goneva into space, the experienced winger linked up well with the young halfback diving over in the corner.

Fiji was able to keep Georgia's attack at bay in the second half and with time up on the clock they took a penalty quickly, worked their way into the 22 and debutant Semi Radradra was able to grab his first test try.

The win for Fiji sees them end Georgia's 7 game unbeaten streak and will see them put significant pressure on France in the World Rankings that could result in them move into an all-time high of 8th overall by the end of the June Tests.
