CONFIRMED: Serin signs for Toulon

Bordeaux scrumhalf Baptiste Serin will leave the club at the end of the season after signing a three-year deal with RC Toulon.

Serin has been linked to a number of clubs with his contract coming to an end and the fact that Bordeaux secured the signature of promising Biarritz scrumhalf Maxime Lucu.

The 24-year-old who has already made 20 appearances for his country drew the interest of Montpellier and Stade Francais but has opted to sign for Toulon.

Serin was identified as the replacement for Ruan Pienaar who is set to leave the club at the end of season while Stade Francais had to remove themselves from the race for the talented halfback due to the salary cap.

The signing is a boost to Toulon who failed to capture the signing of Christopher Tolofua from Saracens - who was identified as the replacement for Guilhem Guirado.
