Christian Wade eyes return to rugby

Former Wasps winger and England international Christian Wade has noted a possible return to England and rugby union after spending three years with the Buffalo Bills in the NFL.
31 year-old Wade has an impressive CV with 8 caps for England U20, 1 cap for the England national side, 165 caps for Wasps and was also a member of the 2013 British & Irish touring party to Australia.
Wade had an explosive start to his NFL career, scoring a touchdown with his first touch of the ball, but injury and a lack of experience in the sport saw his progress stagnate. Now, apparently, a return to his roots is on the cards.
“I’m just looking at what the next move will be for me,” Wade said, speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
“Whether I continue to pursue NFL, whether I look at rugby again – because I am starting to build up an appetite for it after being away for so long.
“Ultimately I am intrigued what value [rugby union] teams can see that I could bring to them, now that I’ve had those three years away.
“It’s quite intriguing to see where those teams place me now if I was to join them.
“You add my NFL experience – an elite part of sport – that’s something I can bring to teams now as well.”
