Chiefs Tie Down Key Trio

The Chiefs have confirmed the contract extensions of Alex Nankivell, Sean Wainui and Liam Polwart until the end of the 2020 season. 

Inside centre Alex Nakivell is set to take on a bigger role in the side from the 2019 season following the departure of Charlie Ngatai. The Tasman centre has featured in 4 of the Chiefs' 15 matches so far this season.

Hooker Liam Polwart has been a regular in the Chiefs side this season featuring in 12 of his side's 15 matches. The 23-year-old has performed brilliantly as Nathan Harris' back up and has pushed the All Black hooker for a place in the starting XV. 

Utility back Sean Wainui has been a real find for the Chiefs this season having not being included in the initial squad for the 2018 season. The former Crusader has featured in all but two of the Chiefs matches after being called into the squad following injuries to a number of outside backs and has scored 6 tries in 13 matches.
