Charlie Atkinson to remain at Wasps

Young Wasps flyhalf Charlie Atkinson has elected to extend his stay at the club.

The 19 year-old has shown good promise and has subsequently been promoted to the first team squad for next year’s competitions.

Atkinson was in the headlines last year after being on the receiving end of a vicious tackle from England captain Owen Farrell.

“We are extremely happy that Charlie has agreed to a new contract with us and is making the step up to the first-team squad next season,” said Wasps head coach Lee Blackett.

“Charlie has impressed with the opportunities that he has got this season. He has had an outstanding first twelve months in men’s rugby and shows a daily desire to keep improving. We are all looking forward to working with him further in the coming years."

"I’m very happy to make the step up to the first team next season,” said Atkinson. “I have really enjoyed playing this season and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with this great group of players and staff."
